Andrea de Leon is a multidisciplinary artist and fabricator whose work spans a wide range of mediums, including glass, metal, ceramics, and foundry arts. Drawing from her expertise in light, optics, and materiality, her practice explores the concept of “quantum neurosis,” blending metaphysical and psychological themes with dynamic, material processes. Her work often challenges perceptions of form and space by creating mass from negative space, prompting deeper reflections on the human condition.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the Savannah College of Art and Design, Andrea combines her sculptural abilities with industrial design in diverse projects, from large-scale installations and museum exhibits to custom functional art. Her technical proficiency in welding, machining, and metal fabrication allows her to merge creative vision with precision craftsmanship, pushing the boundaries of both art and design.

Andrea’s work has been exhibited in galleries such as and Austin City Hall, and featured in exhibitions across Texas and beyond, including Artspace 111 in Fort Worth and SOFA Chicago. She was a founding member of ICOSA collective in Austin, Texas which continues to feature new exhibitions on a monthly basis. As a seasoned instructor, she has also taught metalsmithing, glassblowing, and sculpture, sharing her passion for craftsmanship with students of all levels.

With a multicultural background and fluency in Spanish, Andrea brings a global perspective to her art, continuously exploring the intersection of material science and human experience. Through her diverse body of work, she remains dedicated to making the intangible tangible, revealing unseen forces that shape our reality. She continues her practice in Austin.
